After deciding on what i was going to be using for the brief I narrowed down the areas I was going to photograph and and also researched some more photographers work including Mark Power, Fay Godwin both and also some war time photographers including Bill Brandt and Bert Hardy.
When taking the pictures I didn't want to be confined to photographing only the areas where the bombs hit directly and decided that I would go to the area and if there was something else close by i would use that instead, similar to Mark Power in his body of work 'The Shipping Forecasts.' I also want to try and give the images an aged look so found myself focusing on the more run down areas I visited, this wasn't possible in some locations as you can see for the images below.
all images below are unedited and taken using a canon 50D, 50mm f1.8 lens.
